My roots are in the mountainous, western part of Austria. I studied Geography at the University of Innsbruck (A) and Aberdeen (UK) and worked as a consultant in the field of natural hazard
management in Innsbruck.
I decided to come back to university and conducted my PhD in the Hydrology & Climate Group of the Geography Department at the University of Zurich (CH).
I did a postdoc at the Earth and Ocean Science Department at Duke University, North Carolina (USA) before I moved to the Chair of Hydrology at the University of Freiburg (DE).
Currently I am working as a consultant in Bern (CH).
